New Jersey is trying to secure a 40,000 ton shipment that’s stuck in Maine without the required federal waiver. Crews may not have enough salt to withstand another storm.

Minimum wage pros and cons

Democrats are hoping to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 as early as next month. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says that over 16 million people would see their wages rise under the plan, and almost a million people would move above the poverty line. However 500,000 jobs could be lost by 2016, and employment growth could be stunted.

Egyptian officials threatened

An al-Qaeda inspired organization which has become increasingly hostile towards foreigners and Egyptian police and military has government officials concerned.  The threat, made on Twitter, gave travelers in the Sinai Peninsula until Thursday to leave Egypt, or face an attack.
